FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A PDF DIGITAL DOWNLOAD?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It was a technology developed to allow people everywhere, regardless of what operating systems and software programs they have, to share documents. When you share a PDF file, virtually anyone can read it using free Adobe Reader software which you can download here.

Our sheet music products are available as either a hard-copy book that can be shipped to you, or as a PDF digital download (or both). We do not physically ship PDFs, but after you finish checking out, you will receive an email with a link to download your PDF and you can print it immediately on your own printer at home.

I CAN'T GET MY PDF THAT I PURCHASED TO DOWNLOAD TO MY COMPUTER. WHY CAN'T I OPEN IT?
Have you downloaded Adobe Reader to your computer? It is a universal program used to open PDF documents. You can download it here for free. Our PDF digital downloads are sized appropriately for web quality and should download fairly quickly, even with slow internet speeds. However, if you continue to have trouble downloading your PDF, contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

CAN I MAKE COPIES OF MY MUSIC? HOW MANY COPIES OF EACH PDF CAN I PRINT?
You may make a copy of your music for your own personal use, however, it is dishonest and illegal to make copies for other people. PDFs should be treated in the same manner as hard-copy sheet music. Just as you should not make a copy of a hard-copy piece of music for another person, you shouldn't email them a copy of the PDF, or forward them the link to download it, either. An appropriate example of copying for personal use that our customers often ask about would be if you printed your PDF, but then either lost it or it got damaged; you may reprint it from your computer for your own personal use.

Please only make copies of hard-copy sheet music, or download copies of PDFs, for your own personal use. If you need another copy for someone else, we ask that you purchase an additional copy. We appreciate your honesty in this matter.

DOES MARSHALL PERFORM OR SPEAK FOR CHURCH AND FAMILY FUNCTIONS?
Marshall loves to share his talents performing and speaking for family events, weddings, civic concerts, church groups, camps and youth conferences, firesides, etc. However, particularly with his assignment as an Institute choir director, many of his evenings are currently filled with performances and other engagements with his choir.

Marshall tries to accommodate church and service requests as often as his schedule permits, while being careful to protect the time he has with his young family. For all other requests, Marshall typically charges $75-$100 per hour. Feel free to contact Marshall with any questions and details regarding a performance or speaking engagement.

WHEN WILL [insert title of your favorite song by Marshall McDonald here] BE AVAILABLE FOR ME TO BUY?
Marshall's full-time job is actually teaching Institute for the LDS Church education system. Therefore, the time he has to spend on his various music projects is limited. He eventually hopes to translate most of his music from his memory down onto paper, but releasing music he wrote previous to professionally publishing his sheet music may take a long time for him to get to as he juggles new and upcoming projects. If you add your email address to his newsletter list, you will always be the first to know when he releases any new music.

WHAT IS MARSHALL'S FAVORITE BRAND OF CHOCOLATE MILK?
Marshall's mother claims that his love for chocolate milk began as early as his toddler years when he begged her for more "chocolate juice!" He has officially diagrammed the hierarchy of brands of chocolate milk and currently the top spot is claimed by Reed's Dairy from Idaho. Who knew authentic potato flakes made such yummy chocolate milk? (Western Family lost its claim to fame with the recent change of its recipe, which diluted its previously rich consistency. Marshall is not a fan of skinny milk).
